Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Recovo ("Recovo," "the App," "we," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. We do not collect, store, or share your personal information except as described below.

What Data We Collect

We do not collect analytics, advertising data, or behavioral tracking information.

The data you enter in the app (streak, journal entries, relapse history, accountability partner info, settings) is stored on your device and, where noted below, synced to our secure cloud database so your progress is preserved across devices and reinstalls.

Data Storage

Cloud sync ensures your journal and relapse history are not lost if you reinstall the app or switch devices. This data is stored securely in Supabase and is associated with your account.

Account Data

Recovo uses Supabase to securely store your account credentials (email and password) for login purposes. This allows your account to be accessible across devices. Supabase stores your credentials securely and does not share them with third parties. See supabase.com/privacy.

๐Ÿ“ฑ SMS Messaging

Who Receives SMS Messages

SMS messages are sent only to your designated accountability partner โ€” a third party whose phone number you voluntarily provide within the app. The app user themselves does not receive SMS messages from Recovo.

Consent & Opt-In Process

Before entering your partner's phone number, you must first verbally obtain their consent. The opt-in process works as follows:

  1. You verbally obtain consent from your accountability partner.
  2. You enter their phone number in the Setup Accountability Partner screen.
  3. A consent disclosure is shown above the "Send Code to Partner" button.
  4. You tap the button to send the invite.
  5. Your partner receives an SMS with a unique code and must reply YES to confirm participation.
  6. No further messages are sent until your partner confirms by replying YES.
  7. All subsequent messages include opt-out (STOP) and help (HELP) instructions.

Types of Messages Sent

Your accountability partner may receive:

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. Your accountability partner will receive no more than 2 messages per blocking session โ€” one invite code and one optional unlock notification. No messages are sent until the partner confirms by replying YES.

Opt-Out Instructions

Your accountability partner can reply STOP to any message to opt out of future messages. After opting out, they will receive a one-time confirmation and no further messages will be sent. They can reply HELP for assistance. You can also remove the accountability partner at any time in the app under Settings โ†’ Clear Accountability Partner.

Messaging Costs

Msg & Data rates may apply for messages received by your accountability partner depending on their mobile carrier and plan.

SMS Provider

SMS messages are delivered via Twilio. Your partner's phone number is transmitted to our backend server solely for the purpose of sending the SMS and is not stored after the message is delivered. See Twilio's privacy policy at twilio.com/legal/privacy.

SMS Disclosure: Recovo sends SMS messages only to your designated accountability partner. Your partner must reply YES to confirm participation before any further messages are sent. Third-Party Services

We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking tools.

Children's Privacy

This app is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top.
