1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Recovo ("Recovo," "the App," "we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older.

3. Description of Service

Recovo is a gambling recovery support app that provides streak tracking, journaling, website blocking tools, and an accountability partner feature. The App is intended as a personal support tool only and is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or addiction treatment.

4. Subscription & Billing

Recovo Pro is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks all features of the App.

Available Plans

Current pricing for each plan is displayed in the App before purchase. Prices may vary by region and are confirmed at checkout.

Billing & Auto-Renewal

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Free Trials

If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

How to Cancel

You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone Settings:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone
  2. Tap your Apple ID (your name at the top)
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Select Recovo and tap Cancel Subscription

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to Recovo Pro until then.

Refunds

All purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. SMS Messaging Terms

Program Name

Recovo โ€” Accountability Partner SMS

Program Description

When you add an accountability partner in the App, an SMS message is sent to the phone number you provide on your partner's behalf. This message contains a private unlock code and a request for your partner to confirm their role by replying YES. No further messages are sent until your partner confirms.

If you end a blocking session early, an additional SMS notification may be sent to your partner to inform them so they can offer support.

Message Flow / Opt-In Process

  1. The app user verbally obtains consent from their accountability partner.
  2. The app user enters the partner's phone number in the Setup Accountability Partner screen.
  3. The app displays a consent disclosure above the "Send Code to Partner" button: "By tapping Send Code to Partner you confirm that your partner has consented to receive SMS messages from Recovo on their behalf. Message frequency varies โ€” up to 2 messages per blocking session. Msg & Data rates may apply. They can reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help."
  4. The app user taps the button to send the invite.
  5. The partner receives an SMS with a unique code and must reply YES to confirm participation. No further messages are sent unless the partner confirms.
  6. All subsequent messages include opt-out (STOP) and help (HELP) instructions.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. Your accountability partner will receive no more than 2 messages per blocking session โ€” one invite code and one optional unlock notification. No messages are sent until the partner confirms by replying YES.

Messaging Costs

Msg & Data rates may apply. Message and data rates are determined by your accountability partner's mobile carrier and plan.

Opt-Out Instructions

Your accountability partner can reply STOP at any time to opt out of receiving future SMS messages from Recovo. After opting out, they will receive a one-time confirmation message and no further messages will be sent to that number.

Supported Carriers

Recovo's SMS program is supported by major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Carrier support may vary.

Your Responsibility as the App User

By entering your accountability partner's phone number and tapping "Send Code to Partner," you confirm that:

โš ๏ธ Recovo is not a medical device, mental health service, or addiction treatment program. The App is a self-help tool designed to support your recovery goals. Always seek professional help from a licensed therapist, counselor, or medical provider for addiction treatment.

8. Data & Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Streak, settings, and accountability partner info are stored locally on your device. Journal entries and relapse history are stored locally and synced to Supabase for backup and cross-device access. Account credentials are stored securely via Supabase. Your accountability partner's phone number is transmitted to our backend server solely to send the SMS message and is not stored after delivery.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code within the App is owned by Recovo. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the App without permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recovo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
